how much would a mechanic charge

    hi people , just ruflly wont to know how much a mechanic will charge to fit a performance cam ?? and also were should i take it to get it done ,im in melb thanks

    your lookin at roughly $80 an hour, new gaskets and probably a water pump... so probably $900 ish at best

    900 labour ?? ive already got a cam i just need it fitted ...and i also have the inlet manifold gasket n rocker cover gasket

    u doing lifters and pushrods too??? you will find its a pretty big job....get a few quotes from different places and go to the best one

    but u will need the lifters and mayb valve springs/retainers/collets.. even if u got the cam still prob 500 if u dont need the other things

    $900 thats a hit 4 a cam and i know. tell me more y the water pump? ?

    your best bet would be to ring a few mechanics and ask them. But i agree with boona - about $80 and hour for labour.

    cos it will flex when it is removed.....its been on there a while you would be suprised if you checked it with a straight edge

    11 hours to do a cam... wow i wouldve said 6 at the most
    max $500 labour plus parts
