I was conceived about the same time as the prototype 48-215s were leaving the USA.
I learned to drive (underage) in a FC ute.
My first car in 1965 was a Mk2 Zephyr, on which I spent too much money, but learned about life's necessities with it, like how to drive when not really sober, how much power was not enough, is sideways quicker than straight, how to pick up skirt, when is next pay day .............
My first new Holden was a 1968 HK Kingswood 186S with GTS options, cost about $3,100. I could neither obtain or afford the insurance on a Monaro or a V8.
