Isn't it the oposite in the real world ?
Most likely people to offend you are the ones making judgements when they know nothing about you ? Like some drunk asshole in the pub calling your mrs ugly or something.
If you value someone's opinion you are more likely to take it as constructive criticism than an offence...

This thread seems to be venturing beyond more than just admitting one's age, so here goes.

Born during the last eighteen months of 48/215 production. (65)

First "car" was the chassis from a postwar Ford Prefect (the old upright thing that was actually a carry over from pre war). A mate and I put the thing together in 1970. Flathead four cylinder, 3 speed, torque tube drive. FE seat and fuel tank, timber floorboards, lap belts. No generator, we just ran off the battery. Flogged it around the bush near home and along the Wakehurst Golf Course during its construction.

Obtained my licence later that year. Mostly Holdens owned since then for 47 years.
