ok this is all legit
My nine year old brother got a letter today telling him that he needs to attend court this month for not paying a train ticket he didnt even get november.
the time was 6/11/08 at 10.50am he was at school.
we were told if he dosnt pay it he will loose his licence witch he dose not have because he is nine
we rang up telling the court it is stupid they want us to go to the court with a birth cirtificate or passport to prove it is him but doing that means dad has to miss a day of work for this bullshit
were not going to rock up and see how far this gets

Just sounds like its a case of mistaken identity..whoever was meant to recieve the letter obviously has the same name as your brother.

probably skipped school, happens all the time. Did you skip school too by any chance? hard time deciphering your language.

Either way go and prove his innocence, sign it over and there shouldn't be a problem. In this case they seem to be providing him with an opportunity to show that it wasn't actually him - that is the legal system providing a safe-guard against mistaken identity which (not witch) is always going to happen.

Though i'd still bet he skipped....

Doesn't mean much. Has he ever skipped before? (of course here you'll say no).

I don't know how these things work, how do they get his details to send him the ticket? does it mean someone has to know his name, addy and DOB etc? I'm just not sure how these things work.
