Ok. I may go to wreckers and have a look. Got a feeling it won’t be so simple tho

Great post! I’ll be attempting this when I get my wheel in the mail.

Can anyone advise the price of the centre bolt? Is it a few $ from Holden parts?

Thanks

It was $12 back in 2014 according to an earlier post on this thread. Probably no reason why you couldn't reuse the old one though.

Just wanted to add my experience here.

So, the asshat that put my steering wheel on did it up super, super tight and my torx wrench gobbled up the bolt head immediately.

Everything else was really easy. But now I need to get some sort of extractor bit to try to get the bolt out still.

It is just on so freakin tight it is fkn infuriating. Aluminium bolts. Wonderful things.

Oh and not to mention the replacement bolt I need to get .

Steering wheel looks tip top.

Just completed this upgrade yesterday & what an absolute pain in the ass it was to get that bolt undone... Whole job took me the good part of an hour simply because of that bolt.

Couldn’t get it to budge with a Torx T handle & had to stand outside the car & lean thru the door & use a ratchet with 2 hands to get the leverage needed to loosen the bolt. Initially there was an almighty crack sound & I was convinced I had snapped something but was just the threadlock seal breaking.

Other than that it was quick & simple to change the actual wheel & buttons over. Just have to go steady & be very careful not to bump anything out of alignment while swapping the steering wheel.

Overall very happy with the end result.

A little off topic but has anyone else seen this VF steering wheel?

Could be a good option for anyone that wants a difference. They also do one with alcantara instead of leather at 9 and 3
