I've fitted new sway bar links on the VS that have ball joints top and bottom, solid mounted so no more bushes to bust :D

I'm glad I found this as my bushes are definitely due! I'm hearing clinking noises every time I go over a speed bump. I will let you go how it goes :)

the washer on the top is upside down, other than that it looks ok to me.

A bit late perhaps but no doubt someone else will read it later at least. That washer looks OK to me. The "cup" should face away from the rubber to allow the link to pivot without dragging the rubber out of position.

I changed mine recently. I did it to stop the metallic knocking noise coming from the front of the car when I went over small bumps. It fixed the problem. It looks like the LHS ball joint was worn and clanked, I could make it knock by hand by just pulling and pushing it.

Thanks for your instructions, they helped. Here is my summary of what I did:
* Parts
- 2 x Sway bar link rod kits
-- $42 ea from Holden Barry Smith at Pennant Hills

* Removal
- jack front of car and remove wheels
- turn steering wheel to give access to bolts
- loosen top bolt
- remove bottom bolt
- remove top bolt
- remove pin, take note of washer and bush order
- move steering wheel to allow easy removal

* Replacement
- insert new pin
-- move steering wheel to make it fit
- do up bottom bolt
-- do this quite tight
- do up top bolt
-- set the ball joint parallel with the sway bar end
-- tighten when wheels are pointing straight ahead
-- don't over tighten
-- tighten so that bush can be just rotated when the wheels are straight ahead

Seems the sway bar is meant to be straight. When looking on eBay I seem to see this one for sale and recommended over the genuine part. However it's bent.

Is there any particular sway bar link people recommend to buy?
