what numbers or things should i look for to tell if a VH "SLE" is real or not??

On the build plate, the one that has model, trim etc look at the model code and it should have 8VX69. Thats the SLE code.

so a model code of VH8VK69 - 161 isn't an SLE??

Nope thats a VH SL 161 pack which includes M76 5 speed transmission, 2.85 High Comp 6 cylinder motor and GV4 3.36 diff.
