I have a radiator leak, I am going to get it fixed. I am not sure how to check if thermostat is ok and waterpump.
thermostat is like 10$ to replace so just replace it anyway. water pump, get a pressure test done to see if has leaks.
Hi Umair, As suggested, once the new radiator has been fitted you will be able to get a pressure test done, if that is not available, get the engine up to operating temp and turn it off. The rise in temp (once the fans have stopped) will make any leaks evident. Australian Ebay price for 5.7L thermostat is $40 -60 AUD, US ebay is about $10 USD I guess they should post to Saudi Arabia, what is the parts supply like in Saudi arabia, do they keep stuff in stock or have to order? What commodore/Statesman/Caprice do you have do you have?, post a picture if you can.
the waterpump is one of them things that you dont know its stuffed till its dead or just about dead some times its best to just replace it if you have the cash to what the guys above have sugested will only show leaks not it the pump is dead or not
