Well my door locks in wh caprice sometimes get stuck, except my driver door (it always open). I asked for a new actuator here and is 80 dollars per actuator. I was thinking to remove or disable the actuator so I can manually open/close lock (just like old days) without the fear of it getting stuck. What is the procedure. Also my car is close toy 300k kms, what engine oil should I put in the car. Thanks in advance.
Just take the door trim off and unplug the wire harness off the acuator, Then it will be manual lock... Have you tried second hand? Oil, 20w50 should be fine, Or even Penrite 20w60 extra 10. Other than that, Penrite 40w70, But that's more for old kingswood's with 500k on the clock,Altho we have used it in a few of our older car's in the summer.350+k's I always use diffrent oil weight's as the weather change's, So example, 20w50 in summer or 15w40 in winter. So in you're case, Being that it is summer i'd go a 20w60.
Why dont you get one from eBay,they r cheap enough or order one from here,,, AUS, Do not change the oil grade, thicker oil will make your already tired engine work even harder.
