How To Disable VE Seatbelt Alarm

Can I ask you why you would like to disable the alarm whilst driving at speed?

i can see why a dealer would refuse, it's a safety thing... or one would assume that anyway...

EDIT: Just had a thought, is it malfunctioning, and thats why you wanna do it?

^^ I like to start moving and THEN put my seatbelt on. Also, when I arrive at the carpark at work, I take it off so I can reach out the window to swipe my access card and I like to leave it off whilst in the car park.

I ALWAYS put my seatbelt on before travelling at speed, I don't need an annoying beeping noise to tell me to do so. :bang:

My VZ Calais seatbelt alarm doesn't start to go off until I am travelling over 20km/h. Which I believe if the vehicle is travelling faster than this whether your in the carpark, or where ever, then the seatbelt is probably a good thing to have on.

I understand under 20km/h heading up to somewhere like a card swiper etc where you have to lean out of car. I have been a passenger in a vehicle in a carpark that was hit at low speed eg approx 20km/h or just under and I can tell you that I am glad I had my seatbelt buckled instead of preparing early to exit vehicle or the like and having it unbuckled, as the jolt was still quite firm for such a low speed impact.

Or if your a country person and don't like wearing your seatbelt on the farm.... Often travel from paddok to paddok at over 25kmh, which is where the warning comes on...

Not as silly of an idea as you would think.

Who said anything about a Calais?
He drives a SSV ute, which would also have the chime.

Davey - I'm with you - annoys me to tears. I do an exceptional amount of towing and drive from one end of my factory to the other to load the trailer sometimes several times a day. Further to that, in order to see I remove the seatbelt whilst reversing due to the woeful visibility caused by the VE pillars. You can turn it off on a VY (and VZ AFAIK) with at tech2 but not the VE

You'd be surprised...
I have a little Astra convertible. Red leather seats, and I'm a horse girl. With the roof down, I can fit three bales of hay in the back seat, and plenty of bags of feed.
