How to disconnect the airbag hose to remove front seats on VE Calais…!?

Hey gang,

Replacing front seats on my VE Calais Sportswagon with aftermarket. Ok with unbolting the seat and no probs disconnecting the cables.

Where I’m stuck is with disconnecting the thin black line (presumably an air hose for the airbags?) that emerges out of the seat back foam, wanders around under the rails and seems to plug in under the seatbelt buckle pretensioner (the female part of the seat belt that the belt buckle latches into) near the centre console.

I can’t seem to access any connection points for the hose and I haven’t been able to find any info about it online.

It’s got me stumped and I’d love some guidance from anyone who’s done the job and knows what I’m talking about.

Cheers!

Hose ?
or
Wire's ?
One would assume its cables for when you plug the buckle in ?
I could be wrong,
but I can not see it being a hose, in the event it could perish over the years, and then make the devices it conected to unservicable/inoperative.

Airbags basically use gunpowder to inflate near the speed of a bullet. You need to be very careful working around them lest you set them off accidentally, which could severely injure or kill you.

The wires that trigger the “explosives” in the airbags will always be coloured yellow to warn you not to mess with them.

Thanks guys, yeah there are wires for the seatbelt warning light and the electric seat position control. But that is not what I’m talking about. There’s a thin, round, black plastic hose. Surely someone has dealt with this before and knows what’s up…!?

We have and that’s why we are confused. That’s why we are saying to take care.
Post a photo or two to the forum and peeps can start to figure it out

I've stripped down VZ seats with air bags in them and I don't remember any hose as such but there are wires of course.
Disconnect battery first and be careful of any static electricity this time of year.

Does the "hose" look like either of the black wires coming out of the seat belt pre-tensioner?

Got a few snapshots and reckon you guys were right - looks like cables, not hoses after all… what a goose! Anyway, I still can't see where to unplug them. Any tips where to look...? Thanks again fellas
