The best way to fill the system is to get a 10 inch length of hose that will fit into the inner of the radiator filler thereby creating a riser tube to the radiator filler point.. The top of this hose is above the highest point of the motor and above the bleed screw on the thermostat housing. With the whole system back together pour 50% Glycol - 50% demineralised water mix into hose with bleed screw loosened. The system will fill and any air will bleed out of bleed screw. When only coolant is exiting bleed screw tighten it. Remove hose from radiator filler (some coolant will spill as hose is full of coolant). Replace Radiator Cap and run motor for a while. Loosen bleed screw again as bubbles in system will purge for a while. When satisfied all air has bled off (might take 5 or 10 minutes as motor warms up) tighten screw and all is done.
If you have flushed the system with a hose without removing the knock sensors from block, you may wish to add a little extra Glycol to 50% dilute the water left at bottom of block thereby maintaining the recommended 50/50 mix ratio.
