You realise this thread is 4 years old? Also gutting cats is HIGHLY illegal (in Aus).

Also should note obviously none of these people know what drone is because, with only one muffler on a V6, drone is guaranteed.

Since this thread is only 2 months old now ;) i thought id ask a quick question...

I recently got a 2.5" Redback Cat-Back for my VY S and a guy sold me a twin tip for it (as Cat-Back didnt come with one). Turns out the tip is 2 1/4 ".. tips are meant to slide over the pipe right before the weld id imagine? did i get done? cheers

Take it back and say you need the 2.5" tip. You might have to pay the difference.

it's not the vendors fault you didn't pay attention.

haha i have 1 muffler in my vs and i have no drone.

yes mate they slip the tip over the exhaust and weld it on, so you need a 2.5 inch tip.

haha i **** you not, its not there. and its not even loud at all. might have something to do with the muffler being fairly large.

Same as above.I have pacemakers fitted, the cat, and one middle exhaust on my VSV6,and no drone. There was a little bit of drone at certain revs before I fitted the pacemakers though, they seemed to stop it happening..Now it doesnt sound too bad for a V6.
