How to get info on Vic police stamp

Hi guys hopeing someone might be able to help .

My VB sle has a missing vin tag and has this Vic police stamp on the right strut tower I'm trying to dig up info on the car and can't I've run ppsr checks and called GM but no luck can anyone point me in the right direction

I've had two opinions one is that it's a stolen recovery the other is it's an ex cop.car ??

Plausible reason is car has had a hit in front...panelshop replaces front apron car looses it's stamped vin that used to be near bonnet latch spring.

Some cars had to get stamped when owners got them registered again.

I don’t think you’ll have any luck in finding the information that you are after. A mate of mine has what appears to be a genuine Group A3 that at some point was stolen/recovered and stamped with Vic police numbers (chassis and engine block),he even had a contact in Vic police who has had no luck in confirming what the original numbers are as apparently they are not recorded. i would like to wish you the best of luck, sorry for not having anything constructive to add.

in Victoria, there is nothing called RTA

we used to have the Country Roads Board and the Metropolitan Registration Authority
which
nowadays have amalgamated and is called 'Vicroads'

Thanks for the info I will try my luck with VIC roads and see what comes of it if I find anything ill let you guys know.

See if the vin number off chassis tag is still in the system?
Tag will either be on strut tower or near m/cyl.

Suppose records got tossed/shredded when departments went digital or changed locations/names/
