the chrome surrounds on both rear brake lights of my commodore 2004 VY station wagon have fallen off and are rattling around inside the red plastic housing. I've removed this plastic housing from the body but do not see any way of getting inside the sealed plastic unit. Any ideas chaps? :hmmm:

You will need to put them in an oven a 150degree for 10mins to soften the sealant holding them together. then use a sharp modeling blade to separate the two pieces.

If when you try the glue is still to hard, place them in the oven again. Make sure you monitor them the whole time.

This is not an uncommon problem. Those little trim rings all fell off in my son's VZ Acclaim wagon. They must have used a really crap adhesive, or they were just a loose press fit. Separating the lens from the lamp body is the only solution as the above post says.
