Apparently, depending on the model of the vehicle, there are a few different codes for the computer sel susp (computer selected suspension).
According to one GM forum web site. It means... "The GM build computer selected those parts to go into your car".
    I dunno...sounds feasible I suppose. But it's one explanation.

Hi 'exec' thanks for the above info...
Here is the model number off my VX SS, which I have had from new, would be good to understand what the complete model number
breaks down as. The model number on my build plate is VX8VK69-824-8BB not sure what the 824 represents either.

Thanks for that info 'SL/E' appreciate it. Been searching the web but was unable to find any sites that decoded the Model Number, most only decoded
    the VIN.

8VK69, denotes Executive. 124 also denotes that, further down.
    Motor is a Holden 5 litre 304
Trans is a 4 speed automatic
    Axle is 3.08
    124 denotes Executive V8 4 speed auto.

Some of these codes are a bit vague, on my VX SS the build plate says GU4 and like you say GU4 is a 3.08 ratio, but the sticker on my diff say 3.07 ratio even though the build plate says GU4. The tag on the diff bolt says LSD. Thanks every one for your help with these codes but some of them are a bit vague.

I believe the series I VT's the GU4 was 3.08. In series II onwards was changed to 3.07. The tag won't list if its LSD or anything, just the ratio.
