VX Acclaim
Hi all

I just bought a VX 2001 (first Commodore). It has a towball with no markings. Also no original purchase docco or logbooks (was good price and in great condition). How do I know if the towbar is the one affected in the 2001 recall? And what the rating of the tongue is?

Thanks

I Googled the November 2001 recall and it's to do with the tongues manufactured by Frontline after 1 April 2000 with a 1600kg or 2100kg rating.
If the bar and tongue is the original items and it shows wear then I'd say it would be safe but then again if your unsure the tongues are readily available and cheap enough so just go buy a new one for piece of mind.

And of just as much importance is

what size is the tow ball 50mm or 2" ??

and what size is the trailer coupling. ??

They need to match.
