well as the tittle says if the car has been sitting around for a while like say 6 hours or more, or first start of the day etc, it takes approx twice as long to start as it does normally, personally i find it embarrasing it takes that long, or is something i will have to live with, from the age of the car, im thinking it may be fuel pressure related, but if i turn the ignition on like 10 times for the pump to prime it only makes a slight difference, so any ideas, all filters etc are new
Mine does the same thing. Once its warm it starts right up, or I go to start it after its only been off for a few hours it will start right up.....I've learned to live with it (but I wouldn't mind knowing what causes it )
cant be the age... my car never has an issue with starting, ever... and its a VN, 1.5secs starts always.... wanna make mine faster though...i want instant start on turn.... anyone know how ot imporve ignition itmes? aZk.
oil pressure switch u've meantioned that priming the fuel rail makes no difference, so u can rule out ur fuel pressure regulator.. the fuel pump is wired thru the oil pressure switch, its about $20 from holden or $23 from repco, go genuine as my repco one failed to propperly fix it the first time round for me anyway. cheap and simple, check and swap a few relays around and jus to see if that makes a difference..
