How to remove oil sump? vr commodore

How do i remove the oil sump on a vr, the subframe is in the way i cant get to the last few bolts surrounding the sump, i tried jacking up the engine but no luck getting to those bolts, please helpp!!

The engine has to come out. Its the best and safest way.

naaaa, ive never pulled an engine out of a V6 to get sump off, just lower the cross member. stick the car on jack stands under the chassis rails and unbolt the rack from the cross member, then undo the massive 4 bolts that hold cross member on and lower it down. ffaaaaaaaaar easier than taking the engine out.

I also remove the crossmember.
As above unbolt the rack (leave the lines on), but i also unbolt the lower ball joint and completely remove the cross member.

You MUST suspend the motor in a safe manner.
Use two systems so if one fails you have a back up.

forgot to mention hold motor up. i wouldnt go as far as removing ball joints, just letting cross member hang down a few inches is enough to get sump off.

how would i hold the motor up ? where do i put the jack since the crossmember is in the way :/

when i did it i just used a jack stand under a piece of wood under the trans to support the weight, worked for me.
