I am embarking on a crazy project to respray a VT Commodore wagon. I have already done the bumper bars.
As a first timer @ spray painting 2 pack, the bumper bars have come out with a mirror like finish so am very happy with the outcome.

The VT cost me $2000, mechanically very good but paint fading so I don't think I can make it look any worse than what it is already hence my attempt to respray.
To do the job as best I can, I need to remove the roof rack tracks, I am assuming that there are nuts securing these to the roof behind the roof lining, is this correct, is there anything I should look out for?
I also need to remove the black plastic rear bumper bar retainers, I removed the screws thinking that they would just come off but they did not, how are these removed?
Tanks in advance..
