airbag light will come on. its illegal though. but still can be done. just undo the screws on the back of the wheel then undo the yellow plug and thats it

To be safe i'd recommend you take it to holden.

One thing you dont wanna mess with is airbags.

I dont think it is illegal if a holden technician removes or installs them.
You also need to let your insurance company know as it would be stated in your claim form the cars safety features

If the car came out with an airbag it is illegal to replace it with a non-airbag steering wheel.
Disconnect the negitive battery terminal for about a minute before removing any airbags. Handle them carefully.

As I said, disconnect the negative battery terminal first and it won't "pop"

    is this true?

If this is true, couldn't you remove the the airbag box(technical term :p) from underneath the drivers seat and have all srs functions removed from the ecu?

    Hey bro,
Did you remove it yourself or pay someone?
Did you remove all associated electronics or just put up with the airbag light?

Actually that the air bag can deploy even when u have disconnected the battery lol :) I think the sensing module can hold up to 10 mins of power...
