Most holdens have the same set up although some have a pop out piece which reveals a phillips screw.
If you look carefully at the pic you will see a wire clip commonly called a jesus clip because when you do this job on the grass and the clip shoots away you will say jesus where did that go.
The tool you see is from the 1960's but similar tools available today from auto shops or make your own or use a piece of rag.

Your showing your age @rambunctious hehe ;)
"jesus where did that go"
was old school, from EJ [Chrome Handles] > VP [Plastic Handles]

It's now "Where The F___ did that go"

PS: I also have one of those Jesus Clip tools, for 2 different sizes.

Hint: If you do use one of the these tools to remove the clip/s,
make sure you have a strong magnet at opposite end of the handle [the way your pushing] to collect it when its being ejected,
When finished, place the Magnet back on the Tool so they stay together. ;)

easiest way is with a strip of rag , a nylon type or stocking and holding both ends put it behind the handle , pull it tight and release/let go of one end. As you can see from the first image the pointy end are facing up towards the handle so you need to drag the clothe strip in the opposite direction , if that doesn't work maybe someone has reversed the clip so do the opposite

Do it with the door shut and they normally land on the floor. Those tools can scratch things if you're not careful.
I find the go is to turn the handle and push on the clip with the tool.

I just use an old twisted plastic bag to hook one end of the clip and pull out .
