How to replace engine mounts?

i do a lot of stuff myslef on my car but when the engine mount had to be replaced, i just took it to the mechanic. i knew it was goin to be a pain and unfortunately all of my mates did too so they said no before i even asked!

Usually the kelpro ones go for about 50 bucks each at supercrap but if you catch them when its 20% off youll save 20 bucks if you buy 2 at the same time.Factory ones are way (more than double) more exy.

i dont know how but i managed to get a service and change the left hand engine mount (i supplied it) for $180 bit of a special deal though.

Hi, this is my first post on here and conveniently enough i just had my engine mounts replaced on my VR today.

So as far as the price goes this is what i got it done for.

The cost of the mounts came to $62 each (mechanics price i didn't buy them myself),
and the cost for labour was $140, it took them two hours so $70 an hour.

All up just under $300 so not to bad at all, and no more damn rattles ect =]

Here in SA, anywhere between $100 and $400

Yep too high, anything under $350 is good.

yeah it is a pain for sure. i replaced my motor and it took me half a day to get them sorted. But got there with persistence.
Because they both angle out. you can get one lined up but the other is out. Like a guy said before. Get a flat head screwdriver and tap them in if your close enough.
