hay guys,

well today i went and put some fuel in my calais but when i tried to shut my fuel cap it wouldn't clip shut again, seems that the little latch that pulls back to release the cap isn't coming back out? i can pull the little clip in/out with some pliers but it wont just come back out it self like it should, seems like there is a spring inside it that has got stuck when iv pulled the fuel cap release.

now how can i fix this as i dont want to drive the car around with a fuel cap just flapping open and shut lol

cant seem to got the release apart to see if there is a spring in there jammed or not, so im hopping i dont have to replace the hole cable and latch etc?

hears a few pics of the bit im talking about, the little bit coming out were the thread is isn't popping back out to latch the fuel door shut again

cant really see clearly in the photos but is that brass connection on the end of the wire some sort of nut?
i changed the level assembly next to the drivers seat and the cable wasnt hard to disconnect so i dont think you will need a whole new cable just a new assembly at the end (get one from a wreckers they arent worth it new from holden)

Thanks for the info and photos as mine was smashed by some stealing fuel. But they smashed the release and the plastic connector on the flap as well.
