Hi everyone

Yesterday I installed a pioneer GM-D8601 amp (600w max at 4ohm, 300RMS at 4ohm)
and a pioneer TS-W304R 12" sub 1300w max 300 nominal

Now I thought they should have gone together fine but whenever they were on high I got a very bad smell coming from them, like something melting

Just now and they faded out over a couple of seconds and then stopped working altogether.
The amp still has power though

I can still push the cone in though and it isn't locked, is there any way to test it with a voltmeter because when I put it on the OHMS function all I get it 1?

Thanks

UPDATE: Just took it back turns out I had the crossover turned all the way down
