hey, my mate thinks i have a "non standard" cam in the car, sounds a bit louder under acceleration(exhust note) than stock and is quicker than my brothers exec despite being like 100kg heavier, it also gets through the rev range pretty quick, and on stock tune @ full acceleration valve bounces a bit... also when i got the ecu changed over the car didnt run as good, (was a newb back then and got a shop to do it) so if it had a memcal for it then it coulda been swapped for stock.... also the car does not like 91 octane, pings like hell, but loves 95/98 octane... i suspect this car was used alot for towing before i got it as the rear bumper had lots of scratches on it.. this is using a stock tune is there anyway to tell if the cam has been changed?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7vYB1k88oY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Zr4SF7Djxk heres a few video i filmed last night is there anyway (without ripping it apart) to find out the valve lift ratio's???
yeah get a dial indicator and check your lift on your intake and exaust and compare it with stock all you have to do is pull one rocker cover off. also make sure u run it first so it has oil pressure other wise the lifters will bleed down and you wont get the rite reading
how much do dial indicators cost and where would i get one from??? so bascially crank it over with the plugs dissconnected similar to compression testing???
you can get them from tool shops for about 30 to 40 yeah you have to wind it over slowly to get the reading if you were close to me id show you how to do it. this test only tells you what lift it has not the duration
ahh k, well ill get vp luke over or next time he goes out ill get phone credit do i dont end up near hallam rofl anyway ill get a gtech run
