HI,

I have a VT series 1 waggon however the last owner changed the motor so what I want to know is how to tell if it is from a series 1 or 2?

Thanks

If it's a v6, It could be vs to vy motor.

Engine number is probably the way to work it out.

Engine number on dipstick may be from old motor, so i'd look under the coils and get the stamped engine number.

Should be able to find a list on the net somewhere that has all the codes without looking too hard

I found this after a quick search:

6H8 VX X 35 F 1 L123456

First three letters mean World manufacturer identifier 6H8= Holden

next 2 letters mean model vx, vt, vu, vy, vz

next letter means luxury K= Exec L=Berlina X= Calais

next number means Body style 69=sedan 35= Wagon

next letter means engine A=3800 V6 F=Gen 3 V8 R= 3800 Supercharged

Last 7 numbers mean Sequential production number or tag number

Hope that kind makes sense

So the one above would be a VX that is a calais and a wagon with a Gen 3 engine and its a 2001 model and it was 123456th car off the line i think
