    has anyone got some pics of the leather gear knobs from VN onwards of what the 5speed knobs look like. im looking for a hsv 5 speed knob for my HZ ute. anyone got one? or just some pics of diferent ones or where can ya buy them new or s/h??

    lol um cheers bud but thats a 6 speed. also its not for a knob its for a short shifter cinversion.

    heres one that was for a vs even has the part no ...still available I think ..I was going to get one but Im not sure if its worth the 70 ish bucks they want for it.

    i think that's the one i've got (came on the car 2nd hand) on a short shifter in my VP.

    still no luck getting it off, there's not an allen key socket anywhere on it, and it doesn't seem to unscrew either.

    frandy i can take a birds eye pic of it if you want, but it's a touch sun damaged and so on by now.

    sorry bro. worth a shot i guess.

    anyone else let me know if you got any ideas about how to get the knob off (heh) as i said, there's no allen key hole, and it just turns and turns, doesn't unscrew.

    i don't know, i wasn't counting the number of turns
    i tend to guage time in cigarettes smoked, but yeah, i turned it for a full cigarette, and it's still there.

    it should be threaded. try turning it and pulling up also. my knob is standard and the missus complains it's to big and long also:whistling
