Hi everyone,
I did a burnout and i heard a loud bang in the rear and after driving home turning into the driveway the diff feels like it's locked and causing wheel hop with sounds
The day after, i jacked the car and turned the right wheel the left stays the same and so for the other side only one wheel turns when turning . I checked the diffs' fluid and it looks grey with tiny metal chunks in it so it's definitely the diff

The problem is the 3.70 diff is 2000+ $ and i live overseas plus shipping cost 600+ $
Is there any rear diff replacement? And is the 3.45, 3.27 and 2.92 non L.S.D. fit? If yes will the ratio affect the performance?

Thank you for your time

Car: 2008 HSV CLUBSPORT R8 LS2 MANUAL with 3.70 rear Differential L.S.D.

For that kind of cost for a replacement, i'd be looking at the option to get yours rebuilt.

Apologies for the dumb question, but what should the other wheel be doing? Spinning in the opposite direction?

I think for L.S.D. diff they should turn together
And for non-L.S.D. opposite direction

If getting a different ratio you will need a tune to calibrate the speedo.

I don't think he will have to because speed reading is taken from abs sensor on ve onwards so only wheel size change will put it out slightly
