Back in the day blokes trying to make a 6 cylinder Torana look like an A9X were labelled wan%ers, have times changed since then?

Nup, times haven't changed, they're still wankers.

An SV6 can be made to look really nice without having to change out the front and rear bars.

A little research, a good set of staggered rims and the less is more approach will do it wonders and will probably be heaps cheaper than the cost of genuine HSV panels.

A few have asked me why I didn't lower my SV6 wagon more and put a bigger set of wheels on it. It's got a spark plug shortage for that and the Torana rule is well ingrained in my mind and will forever apply!

This is enough trickery for me on a V6, it's still a mighty VF2 and looks good!

I think for too long, I underestimated the SV6 and discovered there's nothing to dislike about them for a daily driver. I certainly spend more time in the SV6 than the Redline ute to appreciate the divability of it, they're a great car despite the absence of a couple of spark plugs and V8 exhaust note!

I think the trick to the V6 is to look after the engine. VE V6s got a bad rep because owners didn't know how to care for them or just didn't want to.
Yes I agree! What I have noticed with the LFX engine, is it blacken's up the oil in far less km's than the V8's. It's not an engine I'd consider extended oil change intervals for starters. The bloke I bought the car from, showed me with great pride how a Holden dealer had done every service on time, I guess the best he knew how to optimally maintain it was a bonus!

In my eyes VF SS/SV6 body kit is nicer than the HSV...including those horrid HSV tailights

I agree the front is nicer in the ss/sv6, but there's something about the rear of the sedan (taillights excepted!) that makes it look impressive.

I don't think the HSV body kit is magnificently awesome, and I dislike the tailgate and rear bumper of the VF Maloo. It' more about the HSV body kit representing the top end performance models. The Senator front bumper I like the best with the one-piece grill like the SS/SV6.
