Also just found out that the engine is the 200kw "BLACK" not red as I thought. Standard 4 bolt mains with roller rockers & crane cam.

How'd you identify it? I had heard rumours that some VP's other than the gts got the red motors, basically leftover 4 bolt blocks with groupA pistons, heads and roller rockers. If it's got that then it's a very nice score. It should still have the same cam as the red motor according to the book, but that's easily enough changed. ;)

Ours does have roller rockers and a cam but they are not 4 bolt mains. The left over 4 bolt main bottom ends were used on the GTS's and the Clubsport 5000i's only.

I think the fith anniversarys were painted in galaxy blue.

Senator 5000i was only made in senator quartz, the 5th anniversary model has a colour of its own too(unsure of the name).

Also found out today that it has a stage 2 shift kit.:w00t:

Should chirp into second no worries :)

5000i senator had 4 bolt mains, senator had 2 bolt mains.

Your engine number should start with VU, mine starts with VE.

**EDIT**

Don't believe this, see AirStrike's post below.

You dont have 4 bolt mains mate. Only ones to get the 4 bolt mains are; VN Group A SV, VP GTS and the VP ClubSport 5000i. What colour are your rocker covers?

The 4 bolt mains are identified by the engine prefeix VK. The VE prefix is for the 200kw engines.They had the following over a standard V8:
* Knock sensor
* Different memcal
* CAI
* Extractors
* Twin system exhaust
* Different cam
* Different valve springs
* Different exhaust valves
* Higher comp pistons (9.0:1)

Damn, got all excited. That's what the holden guy read from the service manual. He must have looked at Clubsport 5000i not Senator 5000i. Cheers mate.

What colour are your rocker covers?

The rocker covers & fuel rail covers were red but a previous owner painted them black with a red metal flake.(Im going to paint them red again)
