Hi all,

I recently have had a new stereo system installed in my VY. 6.5 inch fronts with cross over's, 6x9 in back, a 4 way Pioneer AMP and kept the standard head unit.

But now there is a humming noise that comes out of the speakers when I put the foot in to the accelartor. The noise is in tune with the engine and then once you get to a constant speed it stops.

Has anyone had this proble? Or know why it is doing this and how to stop it.

Cheers

Richie

My mate had this problem with his VL. I THINK the problem was he wasn't getting clean power, i.e. directly from the battery, or he didn't have a proper grounding.

In anycase, its interference. I'll check with him and see what he actually did to stop it.

could it be alternator whine, caused by interference from the alternator being picked up in the RCA leads.... this usually happens when you lay the RCA signal leads down next to the amp's power lead.

did u do the install yourself or shop fitted??
