So I have a manual v2 monaro , ls1 , harrop 2300 supercharger.
Was always thinking of fitting/ also recommended hurricane extactors. ( 1 7/8 premieres).

Wondering what the full twin 3" hurricane exhaust ( twin center mufflers) , straight through after that = no rear resonator) is like = both performance but also sound wise..

I was always thinking of fitting a varex rear bimodial ( which I could obviously do later).

Just wondering wether better center mufflers = ( exhaust systems)( both for sound but also performance = especially considering I'd always factored in the varex for = that = please in the neighbours/ politely correct people

Also add car is definitely a weekender = when you want to use it car.
Any and alll ardvertise is greatly appreciated.

What exhaust is on it now?

What power are you currently making?

I can't stand a hefty cammed LS without the rear resonator the sounds very tinny for me and quite loud.

The Manta pro ( de Filippo) twin 3" with rear resonator is really nice on a hot motor mums got that on her clubsport. I bought a rear resonator for my last LS and it took away the tinny-ness , the rasp and the thing slap. Made it sound like a muscle car and everyone thought I was crazy doing it til it was fitted.

That was twin 2.5" , twin 3" is harder to control the noise again. Mums is still technically illegally loud with the full system.

Currently has standard headers, cats and x- force cat back.
Supposedly making 314 kw and 796 nm of torque.

Yeah even this exhaust was only just legal.
As said was really thinking of going varex rear resonator to be quiet as when want to be and open up when you put your foot down.

I'm waiting on a 2300 to be fitted to my LS1 which has a little, 223 228 cam, and currently at around 270 dynowasps atw dyno

It has pacemaker tri-y
PRIM. PIPE 1 5/8"
SEC. PIPE 1 7/8"
OUTLET 2 1/2"
to high flow cats joining to a 2.5" y pipe connected to a 3.5" single exhaust with a big center resonator and a big straight through, but offset, rear box, the exhaust is loudi"sh", but not obnoxious, me and the Mrs take the car away, alot, on big road trips and the cabin is a nice place to be, and the local constabulary pay me no heed

I would definitely look at some resonators for the mid pipe/s and some straight through mufflers for the rear

From past experience the tuner/fitter, estimates somewhere around 360 to 380 "ish" dynowasps atw with a 85mm pulley with this exhaust

Fitting and tuning is still possibly at least a month away, I suppose we will see how it flows and what it makes then

ww.bestmufflers.com is good to deal with although can be cranky at times if he thinks you're timewaster lol.

All commodores need rear resonator/muffler or they'll drone or sound plain shite.

Really should go 1 3/4 4-1 pipes for that pure porn sound & will let punch out that low-mid range torque instead of strangling it. 1 7/8 would work but fark they're way bigger n tighter to fit compared to 1 3/4.

If car is manual I'd honestly have braided clutch line & bleeder kit fitted before even thinking about 4-1's...can fit 1 5/8 tri-y's but bare in mind so won't sound as porn & will hold it back a little but main benefit of tri-y is easiest fitment, clear the clutch line & better ground clearance.

I'd probably leave 2.5' catback just go with good 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 4-1s,100-200 cell metal cats if got braided clutch line otherwise will boil clutch fluid as metal line way to close.

If you were down my way you'd be able to hear one of my cars....major difference in sound 2.5' versus 3' exhaust on modified cars...twin 3' louder than you'd think it would be haha

Good thing about 2000 & later model cars they can be loud & obnoxious outside yet nowhere near as bad inside car thanks to all insulation & sound deadening.

Ive got 1 7/8 stainless 4-1's they're copied pacemakers in shed to offload...sounded wicked for couple of hours they lasted on vy sv8...touched metal clutch line & just too much labour intensive for me to remove/refit on driveway...if only for car hoist at home grrrr

Thanks, yeah probably go 1 3/4 4-1 then .
It is a manual so will need to do clutch line.
My cat back is an x force and on its last legs.
The hurricane cat back I sore doesn't hang as low by the look of it.
The drivers side stays on that side and crosses over after the diff.
Only problem would be is if it'd still clear my harrop sports diff cover.

The no rear resonator means I figured easier to fit in a varex bimodel one.

The company I went to is the same one that originally fitted and tuned the supercharger.

They were saying full exhaust ( they use hurricane) , airbox ( I'm doing) , cam ( they use crow) , map sensor , lifters, valve springs etc, fuel pump ( although that's already ment to have been done., different charger pully.
They recon should rev to 7000 and have about 400-410 rwkw

BUT !!!! A week later and I haven't heard or received said quote.

Guessing they don't want my repeat buisness!!!!!!
Hope the tune isn't locked.

Why I'm asking = do a bit more research and maybe do little more myself and go elsewhere for the rest.
