HVAC system issues

Ever since I got my ve 2008 Calais, I've had an issue with the HVAC system, where nearly Everytime when I turn the car on, it will only either blow air at my feet or windscreen but say it Is blowing at my face, sometimes it's fine, but most it isn't, any ideas???
