I wrecked my other thread, so remaking it.
This is my 1978 HZ Holden Kingswood SL; it has a 253 4.2litre V8 under the hood.
It's got Genie Extractors into twin 2.5" exhaust dumpin on both sides behind the tyres...
I hope to make this into a cruiser I can drive on the weekends and somewhat of a show car..
Quick run-down,
Dad bought it for himself a few years ago, had a few problems with it and had it in workshops for a while, finally decided to put it up for sale.
With no luck with the sale I really wanted it for a project car. so yay for me I got myself a beast.
I've had it for a while now; it was running when I first had it but soon changed. I've almost had every piece of the car in and out about 3 different times now hoping it might work. (jokes)
I don't know what happened but while it was running there was a burning rubber smell I soon sourced it down to the ignition wires are burning on each other.... Silly me replaced them with NORMAL wires ran fine for a while after that, finally came to a point where it didn't want to start. Researched lead me to find the ignition wires are resistors. FML.
So where it’s sitting at the moment, I need to fix and replace:
The plans and things I want to do with this car is..
Earliest Photos I have of the car.
Few pictures of since I've had it, Removed the front end, Interior and Wiring. The only rust I could find in car was mainly in the front radiator support.
Few Battle Scars.
Beauty, eh..
Any Suggestions, and opinions? go go go.
Cheers

So where it’s sitting at the moment, I need to fix and replace:
- Timing Cover
- Ignition System - Wiring, coil, resistor and anything else.
- Fuel Hoses - Cracked at the tank
- Some rust - For its age it has barely any rust at all.
The plans and things I want to do with this car is..
- Firstly fix all the problems with it, and get to a point where I can turn the key and fumigate the house.
- Replace the bulbar with a standard bumper.
- Maybe removing bug reflector and sideskirts...(Opinions)
- I was thinking of shortening the gear stick. (Opinions)
- Removing the orange reflectors in the indicators (opinions)
- Filling previous drill holes in the engine bar and repainting it all black. (Should I go with a satin or gloss black?)
- Gilmer Kit
- Twin Thermo fans
