yeah with that attitude it is
So any updates Sab, your 'shed' didn't get blown away yesterday did it?
Yeah...i went out last weekend and looked at both of them. Does that count as an update? Probably not.
Shed's still standing i think, didnt have the heart to look. Might check on the welfare of them tomorrow.
Seeing as theres no updates then, come to the Yarra Valley meet tonight and get some inspiration. Its good weather tonight so no excuses , I'm bringing the VC and will be floating around with the camera all night so come say hi.
Some inspiration for you, a nice tough HQ.
dat dash cluster
Maybe when it gets warmer.
Really cbf leaving the house tonight
Jeez, now I remember why I hate convos on the back that are any smaller than 10" wide. They look ****. I love convos, but they need to be wide on the rear.
Yeah...i looked at it again this weekend.
Just looked...didnt touch.
Was talking to one of the guys on a HQ-HZ group about the other chassis that i've got (the ute) and the possibility of running a Tonner cab on a Ute chassis because the tray will be shorter. Still looking for pictures of how it looks.
But as i said...just looked at it.
Boat's probably higher up on the priority list atm with the weather getting a bit better. Needs new headgasket and paint done.
ok, reaper and i have come to the conclusion that your engine needs to be done first.
i think i speak for both of us when i propose the following plan:
308 block (you have already)
VN heads, ported (by me for free) new seats and klines etc
intake mani to suit VN heads and 1000cfm TB
VN head cam (something decent, but still city driving spec)
re-ringed, possibly oversized, depends on bore condition
re-use oil pump
VN rocker covers
reuse timing cover
new double row chain
fuel pump delete plate and spacer on the cam
reuse alternator/powersteering pump
new powerbond harmonic balancer
new pacemaker extractors to suit VN heads
new fuel system
thats all i can think of for now.
think about it like that: an LS1 conversion will be cool an' all. but not only do you need to score the LS1, you also need to pay the cert fee's to make it legal...
you ALREADY HAVE a 308. all we need to do is wake it up. i reckon we could push 400 horses out of it if we make it stupid, 350 horses if we behave like adults. we can do this. step 1 is remove that donk and send me some **** to play with
^^^ Exist rocker covers won't fit VN Heads. For that sort of power you will want to consider roller rockers, proper springs etc and possibly consider going a solid cam. New timing case & water pump are cheap as **** - just order one without the hole for the fuel pump. For that sort of motor you may want to reconsider a stock pan - one of those hi-energy type big capacity pans will be much more the go for not a lot of money. Behave like adults huh???? 600 powas it is!!!!!!
Stupid it is!
I know I probably sound like a broken record here, but for the money he'd spend on that combo (I'm aware it can be done on the cheap) I'd be seriously considering using a Chev. Emissions could be a problem with a Chev though.
However, if he did decide to keep the Holden, you'd be absolutely crazy to keep it standard stroke. 355 for sure.
Pffft - for the money he saves a UC dash conversion is more than paid for
Haha, you'll never let that go will you?
Admit you will be at least just a little bit disappointed when I do
Probably, I do enjoy a bit of freindly banter.
oke: Its nearly summer, time to make a start on something surely?
I've gotta move the boat to get the Tonner out from its hiding spot...that is assuming i could ever move it without hitting the shed.
So i've come to the conclusion that the shed needs to come down before i can move it. That way i dont feel guilty for doing nothing
