That's a decent sized shed you've got planned.

Is the eave height enough for a hoist ?

If i go for a baseplate style hoist i'll be able to fit one in, they come up around the 2.8m height mark, whereas overheads are about the 3.5m range. I'd rather go a baseplate one so i can fit the height over to the side so that i dont lose an entire bay to the hoist.

How long has your permit been in? Put ours in yesterday for 8x8 x2.5. Hoping to have something up by mid year. Should be plenty high for a hoist I'd say too. Lucky bugger.

Submission got started mid January, but then it got knocked back due to requirement for permission to build over the easement, Australia Day got in the way of waiting for a few different pieces of information required to send away for that.

I got a positive response from the water company, but now im waiting for the council to tell me the same thing hopefully. They can take anywhere up to 3 week to process. Then i need to re-submit the building permit.

Figure i'll turn this thread into a shed progress thread for the time being.

So. My permit came through, as i posted before. Site levelling tomorrow, concreter is coming in with the excavator operator to make sure it's completely flat/level etc.

But before they could come in with the excavator i needed to get rid of the tree's that are up against the fenceline. Plan is to cut them off about 1m above the ground and have them ripped out by the excavator to avoid the need to bring a stump grinder in.

This is the general sizing of the shed that i knocked up using my awesome paint skills. But mainly including it because includes the tree's.

What would a Sab project be if there wasnt the landcruiser and drag chains. Chains there to stop the limbs disappearing over the neighbours fence.

And just like the renovation shows...sparkle sparkle and the work is done.

And just a random shot of one of the tree's that luckily is staying.

Line etched on the ground shows where the front of the shed will be.

And that's it for updates. More tomorrow with excavator action hopefully.

As promised, more activities and room for future activities.

Excavator had a bit of a time removing the stumps, makes me feel better that i struggled with the landcruiser. Roots went in both directions quite far, can be seen in the foreground the line in the dirt that one of the roots took to come out.

Put the camera down for a bit because i was walking around helping/chopping up stumps. So by this stage the humps down the far end had been knocked off and flattened out. Level was constantly checked and re-checked by the concreter.

Due to the slope of the land we had to cut quite deep at the road end to get a level. From this point we still needed to go down another 80mm

Spreading the soil around with the kanga. We were hoping to use most of it in filling the low points.

You can see the cut we had to make. And the subsequent start to the entrance slope.

Ended up having quite a bit of dirt that needed removal, two truckloads by the end of it.

5 tonnes of crushed rock then went down.

Pic dump time.

First truck arrived at 7, second at 745. Took a total of 11 cubic metres of concrete.

Concreter helicoptered it a total of 7 times. So now it's just a matter of waiting for it to cure.
