I changed my auto transmission and the starter motor sounds like it's hitting the flex plate

What I cannot understand is I drove it like that how can that be

Been there done that. You should fit a new seal as when you don't slip the converter into the trans first before bolting it up, the seal often ends up damaged.

Hey loshy, how com you didnt jump in and tell rooster how not to do it earlier, l thought he said he had starter moter issues.

I'm dreading doing it all over again after four days of pulling my hair out trying to work it out I have two other boxes here anyway might just chuck one of the others in less hassle

The front seal. Check the trans as well for damage as bolting it without the converter pushed in to the trans can damage things as i found out the hard way.

When I undo the torque convertor and slip it on the box and put it in how do you turn the ring gear to do the torque convertor back up

I'd suggest buying a copy of an automotive repair manual of what ever flavour you prefer.

I don't need a manual I just done one thing wrong and loshy can probably answer that question by the sound of it
