Holden Commodore VE Omega 2008
Okay, so I've read many many threads here but I just have to ask, what should I do with my 08 Alloytec V6 Omega - Dual Fuel and selling it isn't an option,
I will be doing some basic cosmetic work like paint restoration and detailing, some nice rims, maybe even a vinyl hood/roof/boot combo and seat covers.

But what should I do with the engine? A full exhaust system? Headers? OTR or Pod Cold Air Intakes? Orssom? Mace? SS Inductions?

Given the limits of the Omega, my budget at its absolute limits is $2000. Any constructive opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

A few minor cosmetic changes, as per most Omega owners in MY Rides : VE - WM would be a good way to spend your $2,000:-
- Change the wheels from the stock 16's to maybe (holden) 18's or 19's
- Lowered on King Springs / KYB shocks (or similar) - contact GSL for assistance, forum sponsor
- Tinted Windows
- Cat Back exhaust of SV6 or SS, so you get dual exhaust
- Replace all 4 door speaker and install amp
- Replace steering wheel with a leather one off Calais, SSV etc
- Bee Sting aerial

- No Engine Mods or headers
- Cold Air Intake IF you get given it for free, if you spend money on it, you're wasting your money being that it's an Omega

- MAYBE vinyl wrap your roof if your car is say white, and you have dark dark tinting, but that's very much a maybe

I have a 2010 Omega, and am very happy with it.

I'm with Gossie & Commodore665.

My expenditure on my Omega has been -
towbar;
new King springs to raise it 30mm, front & rear;
good tyres;
regular servicing.

I drive Darwin to Melbourne & return, twice each year. I try to come home a different route each time.

The springs make the roads of Outback Queensland seem smooth.
Also, the speed humps of car-parks aren't quite so annoying. $600 well-spent, I think.

If I had spare cash, I'd spend it on petrol & motels, and enjoy driving my VE around this great country - my sons love their long trips with Dad.

Thanks for the replies guys,

It is a White Omega so the black and white colour scheme does appeal to me, meaning to cover up some blemishes on the paint anyway,

But would a performance tune on stock or after the installation of the exhaust help? I've read that tunes on stock vehicles to provide some performance improvements

Please don't get an exhaust.

For the sake of everyone you drive past, alloytecs are one of the worst sounding engines known to man.

Not even a standard size cosmetic muffler tip? I do want something to make it sound a bit sportier whether it be a muffler (nothing too outrageous) or a cold air induction sound

Best quote ever. Also completely agree.
