I NEED HELP ASAP My car recently developed a sqeak i took the belt off gave all the pulleys a turn thought it was the alternator so replaced it, still squeaking i took it to the mechanic and he thinks it the harmonic balancer so thats getting replcaed in about a week, today though i was driving it and i think ive caused more damage now, The sqeak is no longer there but now it runs rough as guts now, the check engine light will come one and the ESP will turn itself off. Im starting to thnk ive bought a lemon of a car ffs. Can anyone help me out please (its VE SSV 6.0L)
Pull the codes if you've got an engine light.. Could be completely unrelated to your "squeaking" problem which could also be a lifter. Heads off, possibly a new cam etc... I wouldn't be driving it any more if I was you.
I bet I know what it is I Would check the big springie type thing underneath the wheel man, maybe rust could be making it squeak, let me know if you have any further issues if know a lot about cars
I think your overreacting / over exaggerating man the poor little boy will be worried he's up for a new engine now!!
Yeah bruh it's commonly called the king spring yo, just use a bit of singer oil but be careful not to overuse man you don't want to be spinning ya tyres on the oily patch afterwards

Harmonic Balancer sounds broken. Causes the car to become incredibly rough. Will throw error codes. Do not drive. Get to mechanic. Profit.
Start the car and look at the harmonic balancer, is it wobbly? It should be smooth, no wobble. The squeak you have may be the belt rubbing on the sides of the other pulleys as the wobble induces a loose than tight pull on the belt etc In any case, if it's bad don't drive it around.
it was at the mechanic today they pulled the codes they said its the injector on cylinder 1 none of this is making sense to me i might just have the harmonic balancer replaced anyway cos an injector doesnt squeak
