We are in lock down in Tas. Leave the state and you can't get back in. If you are already away you face a 2 week quarantine period at home once you get back.
Locked down in Tas is about as safe as you can get I reckon. Want to swap? People are just now starting to come down with it scattered all around Sydney. Everyone at the shops is looking at each other like they've got the plague, and dressing like the Hazmat team!

Tassie grows a **** load of food down there so they won't go hungry any time soon. Doubt they make their own bog roll though ;)
@losh1971 you better buy 3 copies of the paper this Sunday and file them all :)
My uncle if alive said to me years ago most of their vegetables comes from the main land, well they have plenty of seafood and apples and pears. Looks like they too will have nothing on the shelves, they do brew a nice beer though.

And don't forget, Tasmania has all the opium poppies so even if they all get sick at least they won't care. ;)

Went to Coles and many empty shelves, meat, milk, toilet paper etc, all the main products and big brands gone. Head around the corner from home to the smaller independent supermarket and product range not too bad so it depends on where you go. Other thing noticed at Coles was products behind cashiers, asked them why and it was stuff taken away from customers trying to purchase more than allowed so if can't find what you want at shelves try seeing what is at the checkouts

So in response to “I think we have reached peak stupidity”. I would say never underestimate how stupid people can be! I think we are far off from peak stupidity as the virus hasn’t even started here yet figuratively speaking. If you would have told me 4+ weeks ago when the toilet paper debacle started that I would still be seeing empty toilet roll shelves now I would have said bs as people will get their “stock up” and go back to normal buying patterns and the supply chain would catch up but it seems no matter how much gets put on the shelf it’s immediately snapped up. They just won’t ******* stop!

Talking about panic buying , an asian lady came into the store where my daughter works with 2 big bags full of meat and veggies and said she bought too much and has no room in her fridge so she wanted a refund . Daughter told her under the existing conditions their return policy did not apply , and to donate it to an elderly neighbour or friends and pointed out the new policy that was posted on the entrance to the store and every register . Needless to say the woman lost her crap saying it's not fair yada yada yada , she ended up being escorted out the store.
