Hi
On the left hand wheel arch under the bonnet on my VK race car... there is a small electrical component

my auto elec says I don’t need it as everything is race customised (means basic ;-)

my question is... what it it... (it’s factory fitted by the looks)

Regards

Did you ask the auto sparky what it was? Post a picture how is anyone meant to guess what you are talking about?

The only things I can see on the left inner guard, except for the fusebox of course, are three relays and an earth screw with half-a-dozen wires hanging off it.

None of those look "factory", what exactly are we looking at?

Those relays could be for anything... probably fans, maybe lights, etc.

That pic is Smitty's VK, not the OP's.

Ok... update... here it is... I traced the wires back and the both go to the alternator... is this a ac to dc converter or what ???...

I must say... at the last track day.. just before we went out.. battery was not charging and we had 9 bolts on the volt meter... then we found one of the spade terminals sls on the back of the alternator was off... the very same that goes to this mysterious thing....

Do I need this... or bugger it off ?
