Hi,
I have been working through some problems with a VS wagon for roadworthy I recently purchased and am stuck in a situation where the drivers side rear wheel will not come off.

Sounds stupid, but it appears siezed to the axle and will not budge.
The wheels are 15" alloy holden wheels of an unknown origin.

Any tips how to remove this wheel, short of hooking a chain around the thing and trying to tow it apart with another car?:hmmm::hmmm:

Go get a can of anti-sieze and spray the wheel wait the recommended time and then give it a whack with a rubber mallet

it happens a fair bit, give the tyre a good whack with a hammer or give it a kick on one side then the other (make sure its secure on car stands) when its off clean the hub with a wire brush

Put a car jack behind the wheel, between the wheel and the body somewhere under there and wind the jack up,it should easily push it off..

I've had success with the wheel lifted off the ground and supported safely.
put the car in neutral and hanbrake off, of coarse chock the wheels.
use a large rubber mellot or a sledge hammer with sumthing soft, normally timber rested against the wheel.
give it a gentle tap and spin the wheel, repeat this and if need be get a little physical with it.
Sometimes they can get farely well stuck. just don't get to physical that you damage the rim.

Great suggestion.:idea3:
Now why did I not think of that!

I have an assortment of bottle hydraulic jacks. One on each side should do the trick
as I have given it a big workout with a hammer today with no luck.
This car has been sitting for several years.
