How easy is it to get someone's address from a number plate?

Some ######## went beserk at me the other day after he cut me off and I got in front of him a few km down the road. He took a photo of the back of our car when we were in slow moving traffic.

Just trying to figure out what he thinks he will achieve by doing that.

unless he has a mate thats a cop, or works at vic roads, he wont be able to use it for anything.. unless he's trying to "dob in a hoon" cops seem to book people just for someone dobbing them in, even if they're innocent

Accessing records for personal reasons is illegal and anyone who does so will find their employment terminated. Their computer system would keep a record of who accessed records so if something did come of it, all you have to do is go them for accessing your records without reason and they are gone. People in those positions know this, and therefore would be totally stupid if they chose to access a record for a mate, or they themselves worked in an Organisation where you simply cannot look up someone's record unless it is part of your work function.

Probably just wanted to get a reaction out of you and have you wondering what's going to happen, seems it may have worked.
One guy I work with was followed, tailgated, abused then cut off by some guy that was in a rage for some stupid reason ( I think it was because his fully loaded van couldn't do 110 going uphill and the other guy couldn't overtake) so as my mate headed towards the nearest cop shop he pulled out his camera and took a happy snap of him, the guy quickly cooled down and turned off at the next street.

When i sold a car and the new owner then sold that car on without transfering it into his name, and therefore when he sold it and the next person tried to register it, they couldnt, my mum got a knock on the door because Vicroads handed over my details. Bunch of dropkicks.

I had something similar happen to me when I got my new VE SS, I opened her up a bit down some back roads near some factories and some old dude pulled out a camera and started recording, nothing come of it, so I wouldn't stress about it if I was you.
