My car out of nowhere is idling like a dog. spark plugs have been done but not leads. I popped the bonnet with the engine running cause im getting a fair bit of shuddering and then i see the 2nd pully all over the place. Not sure if its normal but it seems to be moving around a bit. What is it and what does it do and is it meant to move like this?

That is the tension/idler pulley,
Standard pulley on the L36 & L67 V6's for the accessory belt.
there is 3 options -
  1. Replace the Bearing [bearing is a 6203RS, approx. $5, also a bearing press required to push old the one out, and the new one in]
  2. Pick one up at the wreckers approx. $8 > $15 depends where you go
  3. Purchase a new one at Supercheap or Repco approx. $35 > $50

It needs to be fixed, because it you throw a belt, you know when it will happen, late at night, or out the BFN,
Being the most in convenient moment.

Its a cheap part, but it can stop you from driving the car.

Hint: If you do one, you do them ALL,
because sure as eggs, the others will be worn out also.
