VS UTE
hey everyone, ive got an auto 97 vs ute ecotec and it idles fine when its cool...

but then it idles like a dog when its hot and it only ever does it when it comes to a complete stop. I can put it into nuetral while pulling up and it will be fine but as soon as you completely stop it starts running rough. it feels like its going to stall, and occassionally does, then it will pick the revs back up and idle normally.

My mechanic said it could be due to not having back pressure as the previous owner has gutted both the cats.

doing my head in hahaha

cheers

Have you removed the IAC from the throttle body and cleaned it yet?

Gutting the cat (there is only one) should not affect the idle.... You should try cleaning the throttle body and the Idle air control - do a search or look at the bottom of this page for similar links.
