The POD style Vs Stock Air Box.

The POD makes a sensational induction sound when the boot goes in but is otherwise as quiet as stock when sedate driving around town so me thinks best of both worlds.
It was easy to install & utilises the current factory MAF so no special tuning was necessary either.

I felt like it made an immediate difference (especially in combination with the exhaust) and I suppose that makes sense... more airflow in- more out.

Hard to tell if economy was really effected because maybe I'm just calming down a bit after owning a V8 for a few months BUT I commute stop/start to work (and that's about it) and the averaged fuel economy sits around 13.4L per 100K.

I drove to Kyabram last week and when I got there the average had dropped to 10.8 so I think the POD's make a difference based on previous economies being considerably above that!

Nice car.

I think you could probably thank the exhaust more for the increase in fuel economy, although the 'cold air intakes' do have some benefit at highway speeds.

I got the 5th alloy BUT it's a 'conventional' 19" calais mag, not the 20" supersport rim.

HSVi = a bit of a w8nk really *lol*- It's a dealer thing- HSVi build plate in the engine bay, 20" rims & a few extra bits of leather inside (not the calais V needs much more of that!).

Not sure if it's standard, but it's also got front/rear park assist AND how lazy do those things make you??? I jump in the missus car (not a holden) and just about put it through the back of the garage wall because it's not beeping at me!

I agree they do make you lazy... i don't have the front park but that's ok as i have to back it in everywhere because i will rip the front spoiler off...

But when i drive my work ute or another car i nearly hit the wall or park too far away from the wall :whistling

Front parking sensors are marvellous. I couldn't survive without them now.

Not sure how it makes you "lazy". Parking is not one life's most strenuous activities. It's just a valuable second opinion, that's all.

Makes you lazy as you don't even have to turn your head or even look in a mirror when backing up to a wall... just go slow till the beep becomes solid........
