Hi again,

I need to recondition my ignition barrel. My favourite wrecker guy gave me the inside part in order to change it myself. He said there is a button to click somewhere around the metalic housing, once you turn the key, to release the inside bits.

I have searched everywhere around that zone and could not find that damn button..

Any help is welcome.

There is a small hole on top of the housing, insert an alan key or small drill bit in the hole. Make sure the key is in the on position to remove and to install.

From memory it should come out easy. Often the barrels need replacing because parts break off inside causing problems, maybe a broken part is stopping it from coming out. I'd try a little more force.

The part that snapped off was the end bit.. the one that goes inside that black plastic swich cylender. So I doubt there would be anything in the way at this stage.. Maybe I should ask a specialist to do it for me.

Do you have the key in the on position?

Well I suppose.. It's the only position where it seems to be in phase with the hole. So not the first click but the second.

Sounds right. I don't know what could be stopping it.
