    VY s ute
    Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before or could point me in another direction.

I have a VY S ute auto. The vehicle will never fail to start; however, it often takes 2-3 turns of the key to get it to kick over. Often when it starts it will cough and splutter for a moment then fall into the normal idle rev range. This is not so prevalent in cold weather (but still happens) but when the vehicle is warm or in warm weather it becomes a lot worse.

I have had the vehicle in the Holden workshop and apparently it doesn't come back with any fault codes. I have had the injectors overhauled, replaced the HT leads, coil packs, sender unit, spark plugs, fuel pressure regulator and fuel lines cleaned out.

The only thing i have not yet done is replace the crank angle sensor??????

    Any ideas?????

    Cheers.....

Worse when its hot,, could possibly be the CAS (crank angle sensor).. Mine had similar symptoms when it was failing, it got to the point were i had to pour water onto the CAS to help it cool down quicker so the car would start again...

You need to clean the Idle speed solenoid on the throttle body..
Get yourself a can of throttle body cleaner remove the ISS squirt in the hole and the tip of the solenoid and re assemble..
If the problem is still there replace the IIS..
    There on E-bay cheap..
