Hey guys,

I have just replaced my distributor, leads and coil on the VS hsv 5.7 and i am wondering about the timing. the info i had said to set the timing at 10 degs. Has anyone had experience with this motor? or is it just the same as a 5.0L??? car seam to run good but i had a little trouble starting it.

Set and forget.
Just make sure that A, the hold down bolt is tight, B, you have not bumped the coil wires etc and C, the cap, if moved or removed, is seated correctly.

Full fuel pressure test, as per holdens manual is a good diagnostic tool and a battery with 12v is a dead battery.
A good battery should hold around 12.5v and should bounce back to its steady voltage when a load is placed on it, say like switching the hi beam on and off.
